Maintenance and treatment of the supportive apparatus of a tooth
Periodontal disease (parodontopathy) is a progressive and degenerative disease of the supportive apparatus of teeth whose final result is migration, swinging and falling out of teeth.
The most common pathological change in periodontium is gum inflammation which can be independent (catarrhal gingivitis) or can spread to the other parts of the supportive apparatus of a tooth and can lead to periodontal disease.
